SPECIAL PARENTING INSTRUCTION
Touched By Blindness
It is Blindness Support Services
(BSS) objective to present information and ideas to licensed childcare
facilities that will enable them to integrate children with visual
impairments or blindness into their programs. It is a known fact that children with
visual impairments or blindness can function in a setting with children who
do not have these impairments.
BSS specializes in providing ideas
for each child care center within a facility and how they can be enhanced
to include the blind and visually impaired. In addition, BSS is able to
share ideas that will enable the children to gain independence with the use
of every day items. Overall, the
goal is to equip every child care facility, its staff and child care
providers with the capability of serving children with visual impairments
from all of our communities.
Funded through a grant from the Riverside County First 5 Commission, BSS can
provide Certificates of Accomplishment to those individuals and
organizations that complete this specialized training
